Air Traffic Controller
Air traffic controllers are responsible for maintaining the safe, efficient and systematic flow of air traffic in the global air traffic control system.
The complex nature of the aviation industry requires air traffic controllers to be vigilant and responsive at all times. The work scope of air traffic controllers usually include:
- issuing takeoff/landing instructions and clearances as well as other information to pilots
- guiding aircraft into the most efficient order for landing utilising various tools such as radio, radar and push-to-talk telephony system to expedite the flow of air traffic
- maintaining a standard separation between aircraft through adherence to separation rules ensuring that each aircraft is moving in its assigned sector of airspace
- sustaining communication with air traffic staff, engineers, managers and other controllers
- keeping track of spoken communication between pilots and other controllers
- authorizing the movements of aircraft and other vehicles on or across runways

Qualifications
A degree from local university or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
