Introduction

Some of my friends associate me with the Energizer bunny.Yes, the one that keeps on going, with boundless energy and enthusiasm. I like it when my positive energy is able to bring a positive mood to the people around me!

University life

I completed my first two years of my degree at Taylor’s University and my final year abroad at the University of South Australia. In 2008, I was awarded the Taylor’s Business Foundation Book Prize Award for my achievement in, English for College Studies III. I was also awarded the University Merit Awards for three consecutive years (2009-2011). The award is presented annually to the top 15% of students from the university’s business division.

During my first two years at university, I was the Vice President of Talent Management of AIESEC. I led the talent management team in establishing the recruitment and selection process for the organisation. The team and I also developed learning modules and conducted training sessions for the members of AIESEC at Taylor’s University.

I found myself in a new environment during my final year. Going abroad required me to adapt and be flexible to different cultures. It was not easy but the experience was a memorable one. I was a committee member of the International Student Supporter Group for the Port Adelaide Football Club. The team and I organised activities for international students to expose the to Australian football and culture.

These leadership roles gave me the chance to work with people from different backgrounds and countries, and taught me about cultural diversity and teamwork.

Future aspirations

Albeit graduating with a degree in accounting and finance, I see myself in a career outside of what I studied. After months of soul searching, I have come to realise that I have a great interest and passion for human resource development and talent management. I see myself in a position that involves human interaction and  would like to impact others by assisting them in their personal development.  I feel the academic qualifications and skills I acquired at university are transferable towards my new career goals, and the experiences at AIESEC would add value to the HR department in any forward-thinking company.
